As the economy continues to fluctuate, the need for stable and affordable health care has become more acute. Half of all home foreclosures in the U.S. are due in part to a medical bill that the household is unable to pay. O ne in five Americans had trouble paying medical bills last year. Unemployment claims jumped to a 16-year high across the country last week, severing thousands of families from their health benefits.

The Make Health Happen campaign is bringing individuals and organizations together to work toward a new vision for health and health care in our state. We are seeking guaranteed, affordable health care for everyone in Minnesota, with the ultimate goal of health for all Minnesota families and communities. We believe that healthy people are central to a healthy economy in Minnesota.

We would like to invite you to join us in supporting Minnesota Health Security Act. The Minnesota Health Security Act would provide comprehensive health care to every child in Minnesota, and chart a path toward guaranteed, affordable health care for every adult in our state. It would streamline current programs, reduce administrative barriers, and make a clear commitment to affordable health care for everyone in Minnesota.
